Grand View’s Jayda Roethler Selected for First-Ever Heart Dancer of the Week Award

The Heart of America Athletic Conference made history on Monday, as the conference selected its first-ever Heart Dancer of the Week.

Grand View University's Jayda Roethler was selected the winner, after her team earned a score of 88.8 points, defeating Mount Mercy (77.57 points) and Peru State (51.16) points.

Roethler is a junior from Algona, Iowa and will next compete for the Vikings on Feb. 4 at the Graceland Invitational.

In order to nominate a dancer for the Heart Dancer of the Week, the Heart competitive dance team that earns the highest score during a competition for the week of Jan. 23-29 is eligible for the Heart Dancer of the Week award.

The team with the highest score will select one dancer from their team and that dancer will garner the award.
