2024 Heart Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Teams Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Lacrosse All-Conference teams and postseason award winners, on Friday afternoon.

The award winners feature players from across the conference and are listed as First Team or Second Team in their respective positions.

The individual awards and All-Conference teams were selected by the Heart men's lacrosse head coaches.

Below please find the list of 2024 individual postseason award winners:

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year – Breck Putzier- William Penn University

This marks the second-straight season that Putzier has been selected the Heart Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year – Breck Putzier – William Penn University

Putzier scored 61 goals and had 73 assists for the Statesmen this year, which both rank first in the Heart.

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Year – CJ Besuzzi – Benedictine College

Besuzzi had an impressive 16 saves in the Raven's 8-7 win over No. 5 ranked William Penn last week to help secure the Heart regular season championship. The Ravens are the No. 1 seed in this week's Heart Conference Tournament.

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Year – Eric Garigan Besuzzi – William Penn University

In 16 games this year, Garigan had 136 total saves and posted a save percentage of 62.7 in the regular season.

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Newcomer of the Year – Doug Powless – Clarke University

In his first season with the Pride, Powless supplied Clarke with 13 goals and 20 assists, as well as 29 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.  

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Freshman of the Year – CJ Besuzzi – Benedictine College

Besuzzi played 13 games and over 681 minutes in goal this season for the Ravens. He collected 116 saves this season and had a save percentage of 55.8.

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Assistant Coach of the Year – Gavin Flynn – St. Ambrose University

Flynn helped lead the Fighting Bees to their second-straight trip to the Heart Conference Tournament in 2024. SAU ended their season with an overall record of 9-7.

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Co-Coach of the Year – Billy Dineen – Benedictine College

This marks the second-straight Co-Coach of the Year honor for Dineen. The Ravens will host the 2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Conference Tournament Championship game on Saturday, as the No. 1 Ravens will host No. 2 William Penn at 11 am.  

2024 Heart Men's Lacrosse Co-Coach of the Year – Tucker La Belle – Clarke University

Coach La Belle is in year two leading his alma mater. He helped lead the Pride to the most wins in program history in 2024.
