Heart Announces Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Lacrosse weekly honors on Monday.
No. 10 nationally ranked William Penn's Breck Putzier captured the Heart Offensive Player of the Week award, while John Paul Evans of (RV) Benedictine was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
Putzier and the Statesmen went 2-0 last week in Heart contests, as they defeated Missouri Valley, 24-1, and Columbia in the Heart Conference Network Game of the Week, 29-6.
The senior scored five goals and had four assists against Missouri Valley, then followed that up with five goals and eight assists against Columbia.
Evans and the Ravens defeated William Woods, 14-6, on April 2. The sophomore had 12 saves in the victory. He then played the final 15 minutes of the game in goal for the Ravens in their 10-7 loss against St. Ambrose. He had two saves in that contest.
