2024 Heart Men’s Soccer All-Conference Teams and Post Season Awards Announced
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2024 Heart Men's Soccer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team All-Conference teams, as well as six postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2024 Heart Men's Soccer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team All-Conference teams, presented by Baron, as well as six postseason awards on Wednesday morning.
The All-Conference teams and postseason award winners were voted on by the 13 Heart head men's soccer coaches.
2024 Heart Player of the Year – Sam Green – Missouri Valley College
Green was also named the Heart Player of the Year in 2022. This season, he helped lead the Vikings to the Heart regular season championship and scored 15 goals in the regular season, additionally he had had four assists.
2024 Heart Defensive Player of the Year – Kazuki Hashimoto – Missouri Valley College
This marks the second-straight season Hashimoto has been selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Year. Under his guidance along the back line, the Viking defense has seven shutouts this season. Offensively he also scored two goals with three assists this season.
2024 Heart Coach of the Year – Vladimir Simic – Missouri Valley College
For the second-straight season, Coach Simic has been selected the Heart Coach of the Year. So far in 2024, he has led Missouri Valley to their third-straight Heart regular season championship and are the No. 1 seed in this week's Heart Conference Tournament. The Vikings are currently ranked No. 4 in the NAIA.
2024 Heart Offensive Player of the Year – Luke Persenico – Clarke University
Twice this season, Persenico was named the Heart Offensive Player of the Week and earned NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week honors once this season. He has scored 19 of Clarke's 48 goals this season. 15 of those goals came in Heart play this season.
2024 Heart Newcomer of the Year – Connor O'Reilly – William Penn University
O'Reilly has played in 17 games this season for the Statesmen and has recorded seven goals and four assists. Two of those goals were game-winners.
2024 Heart Freshman of the Year – Reilly Marlow-Jones – Baker University
In his first year with the Wildcats, the freshman impressively scored 10 goals and registered eight assists on the year.
