In the third edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, Grand View's Trevor Albert was selected the Heart Track Athlete of the Week, while Central Methodist's Taylor Bottomley earned his second Heart Field Athlete of the Week this season.
Albert placed 7th out of 41 competitors in the 3,000m run at the Northwest Missouri State Open in Maryville, Mo. with his time of 8:29.26.
That time hit the 'A' standard and currently ranks him No. 9 in the NAIA and is the best time in the Heart. It also broke a Grand View school record.
Bottomley also won this award back on January 10. This past week, the Harrisburg, Missouri product finished in first-place in the men's weight throw with a toss of 20.21m, nearly four meters better than second-place.
He broke his previous school record with that throw and it was long enough to hit the 'A' standard to qualify for the NAIA National Championships.
