Benedictine College Wins First-Ever Heart Men’s Indoor Track & Field Conference Championship

For the first-time in program history the Benedictine College Ravens won the 2024 Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Conference Championship.

BC won the event inside Hughes Fieldhouse on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.

The Ravens won the 2024 Championship on Saturday narrowly with 133.5 points, while Mount Mercy placed second with 132 points and William Penn placed third with 110 points.

Benedictine's David Mannella and Mount Mercy's Keegan Thompson both tied for the most points scored in the meet with 28.

Mannella won the men's 800m in a time of 1:54.86 and he won the men's 1,000m in a time of 2:30.34. The senior also placed second in the 600m in a time of 1:21.85.

Keegan Thompson won the men's 200m in a time of 21.45, he also placed second in the 400m in a time of 48.12 and second in the 60m finals in a time of 6.77. He also helped lead the Mustangs 4x400m relay team to a second-place finish in 3:17.04.

The Heart will announce the 2024 Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, Track Athlete of the Meet and Field Athlete of the Meet on Monday, February 19.

The top three finishers in each event were be considered 2024 Heart Indoor Track & Field All-Conference athletes. 1^st Place = First Team All-Conference, 2^nd Place = Second Team All-Conference, 3^rd Place = Third Team All-Conference, and fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers in each event will be considered 2024 Heart Indoor Track & Field Honorable Mention All-Conference.
