Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, Presented by BoxOut Announced
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its first Heart Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Box Out on Monday afternoon.
The Heart Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award went to Owen Nolte of Benedictine College, while the Heart Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor went to Brayton Stephenson of Central Methodist.
Stephenson broke the indoor program record in the men's shot put with a mark of 16.94m and placed second overall at the UCM Invite.
It also hit the NAIA 'A' standard of qualification for the NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championships and is the second best throw in the NAIA this season.
Nolte competed at the Concordia (Neb.) Classic and won the 3,000m race walk with his time of 14:10.46. He too hit the NAIA 'A' standard of qualification for the NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
