Moore, Zegar Selected Heart Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Lacrosse weekly honors on Monday.
Kaylen Moore of No. 2 nationally ranked Benedictine College was selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week, while Sophia Zegar of No. 8 Missouri Baptist was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
Moore and the Ravens went 2-0 last week in Heart play with a 27-1 win over Culver-Stockton and a 33-3 win over St. Ambrose. With the victories, the Ravens have captured the 2025 Heart women's lacrosse regular season conference championship outright.
The junior scored six goals and had an assist in the win over Culver-Stockton, then followed that up with 10 goals and five assists in the win over St. Ambrose.
Zegar and the Spartans went 3-0 in Heart play last week, as they defeated UHSP, 17-1, Culver-Stockton, 22-5 and Midland, 29-0.
In those three games, she recorded nine ground balls, eight draw controls and caused seven turnovers.
She also scored her first career goal on Senior Day in the win over Midland.
