For the Second-Straight Year, Culver-Stockton College Earns Musco Team Sportsmanship Award

For the second-straight season, the Culver-Stockton College women's soccer program has been selected the Musco Team Sportsmanship Award for the sport of women's soccer, announced by the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

The Wildcats earned the award for their display of the NAIA's Five Core Character Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.

"This marks the third year of the Musco Team Sportsmanship award and to continue to honor teams that play the game the right way and are servant leaders in the community, shows how important these qualities are to the conference," said Heart Commissioner, Lori Thomas. "Coach Tomlinson continues to lead his team with those five core character values in mind and the Wildcats are deserving of this award."

Teams are nominated throughout the season by Athletics Administrators, Game Officials, Coaches, Student-Athletes and Fans.

"When watching the Culver-Stockton women's soccer team compete, they were always very friendly to the officials, as well as respectful to their opponents and opposing coaches. You could tell that playing with character was something they strive for."

The Wildcats also earned this award during the 2022 season. 

For the fall season, the Heart will be awarding its Musco Team Sportsmanship award to one team from each sport of football, women's soccer, men's soccer, women's volleyball, women's cross country and men's cross country.
