Barreto, Bujalance Earn Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon on Monday afternoon.

Two players from nationally ranked programs earned the awards this week, including Heart Offensive Player of the Week, Mariana Barreto of No. 7 ranked Central Methodist University and Heart Defensive Player of the Week, Marina Barbara Bujalance of No. 22 ranked Missouri Valley.

Barreto had back-to-back hat tricks for the Eagles, as she scored three goals in a 6-1 win over Park and three more in a 5-0 win over Mount Mercy. She scored her six goals on just 10 total shot attempts.

Bujalance recorded a pair of shutout victories in goal for the Vikings, a 1-0 road win at No. 19 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene and a 7-0 shutout at William Penn.

In the victory at MNU, the sophomore had seven saves.
