Barreto, Korzenecki Garner Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon on Monday.

The duo awarded this week have now been awarded with their respective award twice so far in 2024, as Mariana Barreto of No. 7 ranked Central Methodist earned her second Heart Offensive Player of the Week award of the season on Monday and Mackenzie Korzenecki of Benedictine also earned her second Heart Defensive Player of the Week award.

Barreto recorded her third hat trick of the year on Saturday with three goals in a victory over William Penn, 5-1. The sophomore attempted seven shots on the day and five of them were on goal.

In a 2-0 victory over (RV) Clarke, Korzenecki supplied the Ravens in goal with two saves. The victory was featured as the Heart Conference Network Game of the week.
