2024 Heart Women’s Soccer All-Conference Teams and Post Season Awards Announced
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2024 Heart Women's Soccer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team All-Conference teams, as well as six postseason awards on Tuesday morning.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2024 Heart Women's Soccer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team All-Conference teams, presented by Baron, as well as six postseason awards on Tuesday morning.
The All-Conference teams and postseason award winners were voted on by the 13 Heart head women's soccer coaches.
2024 Heart Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year –– Marta Carrasco Mesa – Missouri Valley College
Marta Carrasco Mesa had an outstanding for the Heart regular season champions. The junior helped the Missouri Valley defense earn eight shutout victories this season with six shutout wins in Heart play.
Offensively she scored four goals and recorded three assists.
2024 Heart Coach of the Year – Drew Hawkins – Missouri Valley College
Coach Hawkins led the Vikings to their first Heart women's soccer regular season championship since 1993. The Vikings are currently 13-3-1 overall and went 10-0-1 in Heart play to secure the No. 1 seed in this week's Heart Conference Tournament.
2024 Heart Offensive Player of the Year – Ashley Arribas – Missouri Valley College
For the second-straight season, Arribas won the Heart Offensive Player of the Year award. This season, the senior scored 12 goals and had three assists. Three of those goals, were game-winning goals for the Vikings.
2024 Heart Newcomer of the Year – Thayline Teixeira – MidAmerica Nazarene University
In her first season with the Pioneers, Teixeira appeared in 17 games and scored 10 goals and recorded five assists.
2024 Heart Freshman of the Year – Lucia Torres Vizcaino – Missouri Valley College
The freshman played in all 17 games in the regular season for the Vikings. She scored two goals and had two assists from the defender position
