William Woods Sweeps Heart Tennis Weekly Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference Announced its Heart Tennis Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.

Willliam Woods Swept the Men's and Women's Tennis awards, as Mireia Simon Sanchez was selected the Heart Women's Tennis Player of the Week and Cole Horton earned the Heart Men's Tennis Player of the Week award.

Sanchez went 3-0 in doubles and 2-1 in singles for the Owls. The sophomore earned a 6-2 upset over Bethel's top doubles team of Daniela Herrera (reigning NAIA Women's Tennis National Player of the Week) and Daniela Casique.

Horton went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles on the week. The freshman upset No. 63 ranked men's tennis singles player in the NAIA, McPherson's Oscar Brouwer, 7-5, 6-2.
