Pair of Repeat Winners Highlight This Week’s Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

A pair of repeat winners highlight this week's Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, as Andrea Ertz of Mount Mercy won her second-straight Heart Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor, while Grand View's Madison Green earned her second Heart Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week of 2022.

Ertz, won both of her events this weekend at the Luther College Invitational, as she took home first in the one mile race in a time of 5:04.37, hitting the NAIA 'A' standard qualification time.

She then won the women's 3,000m race in a time of 10:52.82, ahead of 13 other competitors.

Green competed in two indoor meets last week, the Grand View Field Meet and the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Invite.

At the Grand View meet, she won the weight throw with a personal best toss of 16.67m and hit the NAIA national qualifying mark. She then placed third in the shot put with a mark of 12.50m, which is also a personal best.

Then on Saturday at the Northwest Missouri meet, she bested her personal record in the weight throw with a toss of 16.68m. That mark ranks second in the Heart and eighth in the NAIA.

Green also won this award, back on January 24.
