CMU Sweeps First Heart Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Awards

In the first installment of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards of 2023, Central Methodist University swept the awards, as Gizel Clayton was selected the Heart Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and teammate Delaney Miller earned the Heart Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Clayton posted two Top 10 finishes at the Nebraska Graduate Classic, with a ninth-place finish in the 200m dash in a time of 25.73.

She also placed fifth in the 60m dash in a time of 7.74. That time qualified her for the 2023 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship, hitting the 'B' standard. Clayton currently leads the Heart in both events.

In her collegiate debut, Miller placed seventh out of 24 athletes in the high jump at the Nebraska Graduate Classic. He mark of 1.65m, hit the 'B' standard for qualification for the 2023 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship.
