Joao Friedrich, Men's Volleyball - Attacker of the Week (Park)

The first edition of the 2023 Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Player of the Week awards was announced on Monday, as Joao Friedrich of No. 8 Park and teammate Mihailo Ivanovic were selected the Heart Attacker and Defender of the Week, while Zeo Meyer of No. 1 Grand View earned the Heart Setter of the Week honors.

Friedrich and the Pirates opened up 2023 with two victories last week, a 3-0 win over Westcliff (Calif.) and a 3-0 win over Heart foe Graceland.

The Joinville, Brazil product averaged 4.5 kills per set in the two matches, with 27 total kills and hit .404. He also had 10 total service aces.
