Culver's Clark Won't Return for 2021-22 School Year

CANTON, Mo. - Culver-Stockton College announced Friday morning that Head Softball Coach Anjay Clark will not return for the 2021-22 school year.

Clark served as head coach of the program for two seasons, compiling a 23-39 overall record. The Wildcats finished with a 21-31 overall record in 2021, finishing third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference's North Division with a 17-19 conference mark.

Clark was hired in 2017 as an assistant coach under Jordan Bastian and served in that capacity until Bastian resigned to go to Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn., in June 2019. Clark was named interim head coach in August 2019 and directed the Wildcats to a 2-8 overall record during the 2020 campaign before that season was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The interim tag was dropped before the 2020-21 school year.

"We want to thank Anjay Clark for her efforts on behalf of Wildcat softball for the past four years," said C-SC Director of Athletics Pat Atwell. "We wish Coach Clark well in her future endeavors."

During her tenure at Culver-Stockton, Clark led the Wildcats to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament this season, dropping both games as the seventh seed. Clark coached two all-conference players and had 13 players earn Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2020.

Atwell said Culver-Stockton will be naming a successor as efficiently as possible.
