Women's Indoor Track & Field Postseason Conference Awards Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a successful weekend of competition at the 2021 Heart of America Indoor Track and Field Championship, the conference award winners have been named for the women's program

Central Methodist head coach, Kenny Anderson, was named as the Heart Coach of the Year in his first season at the helm of the program. Anderson led CMU to a second place finish at the event, improving on last year's seventh place showing. The Eagles totaled 130.5 points on the weekend after 12 Eagles landed on the podium.

Anthony Yates of MidAmerica Nazarene was recognized as the Heart Assistant Coach of the Year after the Pioneers clinched their fifth consecutive conference title. MNU totaled 146 points at the event while notching six first place finishes.

Kailey Johnson (Central Methodist) and Andrea Ertz (Mount Mercy) were tabbed as Women's Co-Athletes of the Meet after a pair of stellar performances. Johnson totaled 39 points through five events while claiming a conference title in the 60m hurdles. She also posted runner-up finishes in the 60m dash, 200m dash, and 4x400m relay. Ertz notched 30 points through three events after claiming a trio of first place finishes in the 800m, 1,000m, and 4x800m relay.

Carly Lindenmeyer was tabbed as the Women's Field Athlete of the Meet after totaling 29.5 points overall with 28 points coming from field events. She earned a pair of gold medals in the high jump and long jump while also helping the Pioneers secure a bronze medal in the 4x400m relay. Lindenmeyer also secured a second place finish in the pentathlon with a score of 2,960 points while landing as the top finisher in both the pentathlon high jump, pentathlon long jump, and pentathlon 60m hurdles.
