The William Penn Statesmen have been selected for the Musco Team Sportsmanship Award for the sport of men's volleyball, announced by the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
The Statesmen, under head coach Luke Bentley, earned the award for their display of the NAIA's Five Core Character Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
Teams are nominated throughout the season by Athletics Administrators, Game Officials, Coaches, Student-Athletes and Fans.
Here is what the nominators had to say about the Statesmen:
"Luke Bentley has done an amazing job with their program this year. He has a really great approach to team culture and you can really see it when their team competes. They respect their opponents and play the game the right way."
