First Heart Golfers of the Week of 2024 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is excited to announce the first Heart Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week awards of the 2024-25 season on Monday afternoon.

Anna Korsen of Park University captured the Heart Women's Golfer of the Week award, while Cole Wiese of Central Methodist was selected the Heart Men's Golfer of the Week.

Korsen and the Pirates took on the William Woods Fall Invite last week, the freshman defeated her teammate Micaela Suhl in a playoff to capture the individual medalist trophy.

The Stockholm, Sweden native set a new 36-hole tournament record with a 141, -3 under par with rounds of 72 and 69. The Pirates also won first place as a team.

Wiese and the Eagles also competed at the William Woods Fall Invite. The sophomore posted a two-round score of 137 with rounds of 68 and 69 and tied for first, before ultimately placing second after a playoff hole. The event featured 80 total golfers.
