2022 Heart Baseball Postseason Awards and All-Conference Teams Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2022 Heart Baseball Postseason Awards and All-Conference Teams.

The list features players from across the conference that were awarded to the First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams.

The Gold Glove awards are also announced to the top defensive players in the conference by position.

The awards and All-Conference teams were voted on by the Heart head coaches.

Below please find the list of 2022 winners. 

2022 Heart Baseball Coach of the Year – Ryan Thompson – MidAmerica Nazarene University 

Coach Thompson led the Pioneers to the Heart Regular Season Championship with a 26-6 conference mark and a 33-14 record overall. This marked the programs fourth Heart regular season title and first since the 2014 season.

2022 Heart Baseball Player of the Year – Robbie Merced – Central Methodist University

Merced has had an incredible season for the Eagles, as the junior hit .442 during the regular season and belted 24 home runs and 78 RBI's in just 50 games played. The Springfield, Mo., native also scored 59 runs. He also has nine doubles and three triples.

2022 Heart Baseball Pitcher of the Year – Kobey Schlotman  – Mount Mercy University

Schlotman threw 64.1 innings on the mound for the Mustangs in the regular season and posted a record of 8-1. He also featured a stellar ERA of 1.82, allowing just 13 total earned runs. The Coralville, Iowa product also struck out 97 total batters.
