First Heart Baseball Weekly Awards of 2024 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its first Heart Weekly Awards of the 2024 season on Monday.

Gabriel Perez of Graceland University was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Carlos Negron of No. 22 ranked Central Methodist University earned the Heart Player of the Week award.

Perez through a no-hitter last week against Dakota Wesleyan, as the sophomore went all seven innings and struck out 11 batters, while walking just one batter.

Negron and the Eagles went 3-1 at the Cajun Collision last week in Louisiana. The junior hit .545 with six hits, including three home runs and two doubles. He also knocked in eight runs and stole four bases.
