Maietta, Rinehart Earn Heart Baseball Player of the Week Honors

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Baseball Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon.

Dante Maietta of Clarke University earned the Heart Pitcher of the Week award, while Brock Rinehart was named the Heart Player of the Week.

Rinehart and the Vikings had a record-breaking week, last week as they scored a total of 60 runs in their four-game series with Northwestern College.

The senior went 11-of-14 at the plate, good for a batting average of .733. He hit five home runs, knocked in 10 RBI and had two doubles.

Maietta threw a two-hit shutout in the Pride's 5-0 win over Jamestown (N.D.). The junior struck out 12 of the 21 outs that were recorded.
