No. 22 Central Methodist Sweeps Heart Baseball Weekly Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards on Monday.

No. 22 Central Methodist swept this week's awards, as Carlas Negron earned the Heart Player of the Week and teammate Clayton Burke earned the Heart Pitcher of the Week award.

The Eagles went a perfect, 4-0, last week with four Heart wins over Graceland, 15-2, 9-0, 21-4 and 7-3.

In the four games, Negron hit .615, going 8-for-13 at the plate with two home runs and four doubles, as well as 12 RBI.

Burke threw a complete game shutout in the 9-0 win over Graceland. The junior struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits.
