Olmo, Burke Selected Heart Baseball Players of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Baseball Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon.

For the second time this season, Clayton Burke of No. 6 ranked Central Methodist University has been selected the Heart Baseball Pitcher of the Week, while Brentt Olmo of No. 24 MidAmerica Nazarene earned the Heart Baseball Player of the Week award. 

Olmo and the Pioneers went a perfect 4-0 last week in a four-game Heart series against Benedictine.

For the week, the junior reached base on 12 of his 15 plate appearances. He hit .625, going 5-for-8. He also had seven walks on the week.

Burke threw a complete game shutout in a 2-0 win over Mount Mercy. The junior allowed just three hits and one walk, while striking out 10 Mustangs.
