Benedictine Ravens Sweep Heart Baseball Weekly Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Baseball Weekly Awards winners on Monday, as Benedictine College swept both awards.

Ashton Neuman garnered the Heart Baseball Player of the Week award, while teammate Ben DeLaForest captured the Heart Pitcher of the Week.

Neuman had a terrific week at the plate for the Ravens, hitting .500 on 8-of-16. In the final two games of the Heart series with Baker, the senior hit four home runs, including a grand slam, three-run home run, two-run home run and solo home run.

DeLaForest defeated Baker on March 28, as the senior went all eight innings in the shutout victory and allowed just four hits and struck out four batters, while walking just one.
