Schwab, Sears Earn Heart Baseball Pitcher & Player of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce this week's Heart Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards.

Ashton Schwab of Mount Mercy University was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Tanner Sears of No. 6 ranked Central Methodist University was named the Player of the Week.

Schwab pitched a complete game in the Mustang's 4-3 win over William Penn on April 13. The senior lefty allowed just two earned runs, along with four hits and struck out 11 batters in the contest.

Sears and the nationally ranked Eagles swept its four-game series with Missouri Valley last week. The junior hit .769 against the Vikings with four home runs, two doubles and 10 RBI's. He went 10-of-13 at the plate and walked three times.
