Final Heart Baseball Players of the Week of 2024 Announced

The final Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week awards of the 2024 season were announced on Monday afternoon.

Marcus Pritchard of No. 7 ranked Central Methodist University was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Kaden Owens of No. 21 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene earned the Heart Player of the Week award.

Owens and the Pioneers won three of four games against rival Baker last week. The sophomore hit .583 with five home runs, a double and 8 RBI's. The Pioneers will serve as the No. 2 seed in this week's Heart Baseball Conference Tournament in Ozark, MO.

Pritchard and the Eagles went a perfect 4-0 against Culver-Stockton last week. The senior threw 6.2 innings against the Wildcats in the regular season finale.

He gave up just one earned run and three hits and struck out eight batters. CMU is the Heart regular season champion and will serve as the No. 1 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament.
