First Heart Baseball Weekly Awards of 2025 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its first Heart Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards of the 2025 season on Monday afternoon.

Owen Coffman of Mount Mercy University earned the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Clarke University's Jaxon Brooks garnered the Heart Player of the Week.

Coffman made his Mount Mercy debut and went 4.2 innings of shutout work against Mount Marty.

The senior allowed just three hits and struck out seven batters.

Brooks and the Pride started out the season 3-0 with a win over Sterling and a two-game sweep of Oklahoma City.

The junior high two home runs and knocked in five RBIs in the win over Sterling. For the week he hit .556 with nine total RBI.
