Schwab, Scott Earn Heart Baseball Weekly Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Baseball weekly honors on Monday.

Ashton Schwab of Mount Mercy University earned the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Culver-Stockton's Jordan Scott was named the Heart Player of the Week.

Scott and the Wildcats went 3-1 last week with a sweep over Graceland and a split against Grand View.

The senior hit .615 last week, going 8-for-13. He had two doubles and a home run and drove in seven runs. He also posted a slugging percentage of 1.000.

Schwab had his best start of the season in a 1-0 complete-game shutout victory over (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene last Friday.

He allowed just one hit and struck out seven batters.
