Big Game Football Players of the Week Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Big Game Football Players of the Week on Monday.

Jackson Waring of No. 2 nationally ranked Grand View University earned the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Ashley Thompson of Peru State earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors and Jonah Cox of Missouri Baptist is the Special Team's Player of the Week.

Waring and the Vikings improved to 5-0 last week with an impressive 65-0 win over Central Methodist. In the victory, the quarterback went 9-of-12 for 157 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran a touchdown in from 53-yards out.

Thompson and the Bobcats defeated Missouri Valley, 48-31, last Saturday and the freshman had an outstanding game with seven total tackles and three interceptions, including two, pick-six's.

In the Spartans' 31-13 victory over Clarke University, Cox made a 46-yard field goal and was a perfect, 4-of-4 on PAT's.
