Big Game Football Players of the Week Announced – October 16

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Big Game Football Players of the Week on Monday, as Jackson Waring of No. 2 ranked Grand View is the Offensive Player of the Week, Canon Karn of (RV) Baker is the Defensive Player of the Week and Harry Balke of No. 18 Benedictine was selected the Special Teams Player of the Week.

This marks the third Big Game Football Offensive Player of the Week award of the season for Waring. The quarterback went 14-of-19 for 239 yards and five touchdowns in the 44-7 win over Culver-Stockton last Thursday night.

Waring also ran eight times for 54 yards and had a rushing touchdown. The Vikings improved to 6-0 on the season.

Karn had an exceptional game for the Wildcats, as they defeated rival MidAmerica Nazarene, 40-7, on Saturday.

The junior scored on a fumble recovery against MNU, while also recording an interception and he had a team-high 14 tackles. He now has three interceptions on the year, which leads the Wildcats.

Balke had a perfect game kicking for the Ravens in their 59-21 road win at Central Methodist on Saturday.

The junior went 8-for-8 on PAT's and nailed a 38-yard field goal. He leads all kickers in the Heart in points scored this season.
