Parsons, Blubaugh, Mueller Earn Big Game Football Player of the Week Honors

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Big Game Football Player of the Week award winners on Monday. 

Adrian Parsons of (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene earned the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Jagger Blubaugh of No. 18 Benedictine College was selected the Defensive Player of the Week and Brandon Mueller earned the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Parsons and the Pioneers improved to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the Heart last week with an impressive 59-12 home victory over Central Methodist.

The junior quarterback threw for 310 yards on 22-of-27 passing and four touchdowns. He also ran for 106 yards and another TD.

Blubaugh and the Ravens defeated Missouri Valley on Homecoming, 31-7, last Saturday. The senior linebacker had a pick-six for 64 yards in the victory and led the Ravens in tackles with seven. The Ravens are now 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the Heart South.

Mueller, who took over punting duties for Clarke University midway through the game in Saturday's 14-7 win over Culver-Stockton, had six punts on the afternoon and averaged 39.7 yards per punt. He also had three punts land inside the 20 yard line.
