Anthony, Maugoub Selected Heart Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is proud to announce this week's Heart Men's Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon.

For the third time this season, Ahmed Mahgoub of No. 15 ranked Baker University was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week, while Marcus Anthony of Central Methodist University earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week award.

Mahgoub and Baker stayed perfect in Heart play with a win over (RV) Peru State, 87-64, and a road win at rival MNU, 84-72.

In the win over Peru State, the senior had two blocks and two rebounds, while also helping Baker hold the Bobcats to their season-low total of 64 points.

Against MNU, he had a season-high five steals and a block.

Anthony scored a career-high 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting for the Eagles in their win over Missouri Valley College, 92-82. 

The Jefferson City, Mo., native shot a perfect, 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.
