Sam Lockhart of Grand View and Cassandra Contreras of Central Methodist Earn First Heart Golfers of the Week of Spring Season

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its first Heart Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week awards of the 2022 spring season on Monday.
Sam Lockhart of Grand View is this week's Heart Men's Golfer of the Week, while Central Methodist's Cassandra Contreras earned the Heart Women's Golfer of the Week honor.
Lockhart and the Vikings competed at the Skyhawk Invitational last week and the Ely, Iowa native shot rounds of 72, 74 and 74 to place 4th out of 87 golfers.
Contreras won the Heart Golfer of the Week three times in the fall, on October 11, October 4 and September 20.
This past week, she won the Crestview Spring Invitational in Wichita, Kansas over 34 other golfers with her round of 74. The Eagles won the single round event with a total score of 337.
