
Heart Golfers of the Week – October 3
In the fourth edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week awards, Laetitia Solombrino of Park University earned her second Heart Women’s Golfer of the Week award of the fall season, while Matias Baccola of Central Methodist was named the Heart Men’s Golfer of the Week.
In the fourth edition of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week awards, Laetitia Solombrino of Park University earned her second Heart Women's Golfer of the Week award of the fall season, while Matias Baccola of Central Methodist was named the Heart Men's Golfer of the Week.
Solombrino also won the award back on September 12. This past week, she and the Pirates competed in the Kansas City Cup, hosted by William Jewell.
The junior placed second overall, in a field of 35 golfers. In the three round event, she fired rounds of 76, 71 and 74. The 71 broke the Park school record, for lowest 18-hole round.
Baccola won the Big Muddy Shootout with a single round score of 65. He finished ahead of a field of 52 golfers. The Eagles took home first place as a team and shot the lowest single-round score in program history with a score of 273.
