Quiroga, Ito Collect Heart Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week awards on Tuesday, as Mateo Quiroga of Missouri Valley captured the Heart Men's Golfer of Week honor, while Aoi Ito of Mount Mercy collected the Heart Women's Golfer of the Week.

Quiroga won the individual title at the 2023 Heart Men's Golf Conference Championship last week at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake.

The freshman was also selected the Heart Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year. He fired rounds of 66, 69 and 66 to place first out of 60 total golfers.

Ito is a freshman from Sendai, Japan and earned her first-ever collegiate individual win.

She shot rounds of 74 and 81 at the Mount Mercy Invitational to finish first out of 45 golfers.
