Quiroga, Pillay Earn Heart Golfer of the Week Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's and Women's Golfer of the Week awards on Monday. 

Mateo Quiroga of Missouri Valley College was selected the Heart Men's Golfer of the Week, while Jordan Pillay of Mount Mercy University earned the Heart Women's Golfer of the Week.

Quiroga won the Missouri Valley College Fall Invite last week by eight strokes, as he fired rounds of 66-66 in the two round event. He placed first out of 80 total golfers.

Pillay and the Mustangs traveled to the Southwest for the Ottawa (Ariz.) Fall Invitational. The freshman shot a 54-hole total score of 221, which is a new program record.

The Cape Town, South Africa native shot rounds of 75-71-75 to place third overall out of 31 total golfers.
