Benedictine Sweeps Heart Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards

The Benedictine College men's lacrosse program swept this week's Heart Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards on Monday, as Paul Gordon earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week honors and teammate Joseph Bianchi was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

Gordon and the Ravens defeated the University of St. Mary, 23-0, last week and Gordon led the Ravens with four goals and two assists. The Omaha, Nebraska native attempted seven shots with all on goal.

The victory over USM, marked the season opener for Benedictine.

Fellow teammate, Bianchi, won 10-of-11 faceoffs in the victory and scored three goals offensively. For the game, BC won 25-of-27 faceoffs.
