Besuzzi, Romero Capture Final Heart Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards

The Heart of America Athletic Conference continued its spring Player of the Week honors on Monday, as the conference announced its final Heart Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards of 2024.

CJ Besuzzi of (RV) Benedictine College earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award, while Boston Romero of No. 5 William Penn earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week.

Besuzzi and the Ravens defeated No. 5 WPU, 8-7, on Saturday to move to 5-0 in Heart play and earned their first-ever Heart men's lacrosse regular season conference championship.

The freshman had a career-high 16 saves in the victory. BC is now the No. 1 seed in this week's Heart Conference Tournament.

Romero scored four goals in the contest against BC, he scored those four goals on eight shots. WPU will serve as the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
