
Hasanovikj of Missouri Valley and Carvalho of MNU Named Heart Men’s Soccer Players of the Week
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Men’s Soccer Weekly awards on Monday, as Malik Hasanovikj of Missouri Valley earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week award and MidAmerica Nazarene’s Enzo Carvalho was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Men's Soccer Weekly awards on Monday, as Malik Hasanovikj of Missouri Valley earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week award and MidAmerica Nazarene's Enzo Carvalho was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
This marks the second award of the season for Hasanovikj in this category. He won the award previously on September 19.
This past week, the sophomore helped lead the No. 5 nationally ranked Vikings to a 3-1 win against Mount Mercy and a 5-0 road win at Clarke. He scored twice in the road win at Clarke. The sophomore now has five goals scored on the season. The Vikings are now 8-2-1 overall and 6-1 in the Heart, alone in second place.
Carvalho and the No. 12 ranked Pioneers also went 2-0 last week, with home wins over Evangel, 5-1 and William Penn, 3-0.
The junior had six saves in the win over William Penn. The Pioneers are now 8-2-3 overall and 5-1-2 in the Heart, sitting alone in third place.
