Heart Men’s Soccer Players of the Week

As the Heart regular season heads into the final stretch, the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Soccer Players of the Week on Monday.

Rune Peterson of Grand View was selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week and Vitus Voitl of No. 11 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award.

Peterson and the Vikings went 2-0 last week including a 4-2 non-conference win over Midland and an impressive 5-0 Heart victory over Park.

On the week, Peterson scored four goals, three against Midland and one against Park. He also recorded an assist against Midland.

Voitl and the Pioneers earned a big home victory over No. 5 ranked Missouri Valley on Saturday, 2-1. Voitl anchored the Pioneer defense which allowed just two shots on goal. The Vienna, Austria native also assisted on the game-tying goal against the Vikings.
