Missouri Valley Sweeps Heart Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

The No. 9 nationally ranked Missouri Valley men's soccer program swept the Heart Men's Soccer Weekly awards on Monday, as Sam Green earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week honor and teammate Cristobal Benitez Delgado was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

The Vikings went 2-1 last week with a 3-1 win against Park and a 2-0 victory over Culver-Stockton to finish the regular season 12-3-1 overall and 10-2 in the Heart. Missouri Valley finished as Co-Champions of the regular season with CMU and earned the No. 2 seed in this week's Heart Men's Soccer Conference Tournament.

Green has now won the award in back-to-back weeks. This past week, Green scored a goal and registered an assist in the win over Park. He then scored both goals in the shutout victory over Culver-Stockton.

Teammate Benitez Delgado, recorded his second shutout of the season against Culver-Stockton and had a save against Park.
