Heart Announces First WinWon Men's Soccer Player of the Week Awards of 2023

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the first edition of the WinWon Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards of the 2023 season.

Jaren Obia of Grand View was selected the Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Michael Stoger of Baker earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award.

Obia and the Vikings opened the season with a 5-0 victory over No. 22 ranked Hastings on Saturday.

The sophomore midfielder scored the first goal of the game and then collected the assist on the second goal against the Broncos.

Stoger collected four saves in the 3-0 shutout victory for Baker over No. 25 Northwestern (Ohio).

He then added three more saves in the Wildcats' 1-1 tie with (RV) Cumberlands (Ky.). The Wildcats are now 3-0-1 on the season.
