WinWon Men’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced – October 9

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its WinWon Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards on Monday, as Luigi Mongan of No. 14 ranked William Penn University garnered the WinWon Offensive Player of the Week honors and Vicente Benitez Delgado of No. 20 ranked Missouri Valley was selected the WinWon Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Mongan and the Statesmen went 2-0 last week, with a 4-1 win over Central Methodist and a 1-0 victory over Benedictine College.

The junior scored the game-winner in both contests and had an assist against CMU.

This is the second Defensive Player of the Week award of the season for Benitez Delgado. The sophomore posted an impressive shutout against No. 7 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene with his four saves.

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain native had four more saves in the 3-1 win over Baker on October 7.
