2023 Heart Men’s Soccer All-Conference Teams & Postseason Awards Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2023 Heart Men's Soccer 1st, 2nd and 3rd Team All-Conference teams, as well as six postseason awards on Thursday morning.

2023 Heart Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year – Gyorgy Kamaras – Baker University

Gyorgy Kamaras of Baker University was selected the 2023 Heart Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.

The forward scored 18 of Baker's 41 goals in the regular season and had four game-winners this season. The junior from Mogyorod, Hungary also recorded four assists in the regular season.

The Wildcats will travel to Marshall, Mo. this Friday to face the top-seeded Missouri Valley Vikings in the Quarterfinals of the 2023 Heart Men's Soccer Conference Tournament, presented by WinWon Technologies.

 

2023 Heart Coach of the Year – Vladimir Simic – Missouri Valley College 

Head coach of the No. 14 nationally ranked Missouri Valley College Vikings, Vladimir Simic was selected the 2023 Heart Coach of the Year.

Simic led Missouri Valley to a 9-2 record in Heart regular season play, for their second-straight Heart regular season title. The Vikings are 10-5 overall this season and will serve as the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2023 Heart Conference Tournament.

 

2023 Heart Defensive Player of the Year – Kazuki Hashimoto – Missouri Valley College

Hashimoto and the Vikings earned six shutout victories in Heart play this season and allowed just 14 goals all season, which leads all Heart squads. The senior from Yokohama, Japan also scored one goal this season and recorded an assist.

 

2023 Heart Newcomer of the Year – Keita Karasawa – Mount Mercy 

Karasawa had a solid first season in the Heart for the Mustangs, as the junior from Chiba Matsudocity, Japan scored six goals and collected out one assist this season. The junior has scored in two of the last four games for Mount Mercy.

  

2023 Heart Freshman of the Year – Emre Baris – William Penn

Baris was key to the No. 17 nationally ranked Statesmen earning the No. 2 seed in this week's Heart Conference Tournament.

The freshman from Dortmund, Germany has scored five goals and has four assists so far this season.
