Green, Carvalho Earn Final WinWon Men’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards of 2023

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the final WinWon Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards of the 2023 season on Monday afternoon. 

Sam Green of No. 14 ranked Missouri Valley College was selected the Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Enzo Carvalho of No. 21 nationally ranked MidAmerica Nazarene earned the Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Green and the Vikings earned the No. 1 seed in this week's Heart Conference Tournament and hosted No. 8 Baker in the Quarterfinals.

MVC defeated Baker, 3-1, in the matchup. Green scored the game-winning goal in the contest and added an assist. The Vikings will now face No. 5 Benedictine in the Heart Semifinals on Tuesday evening.

Carvalho and the Pioneers earned the No. 3 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament and hosted No. 6 Central Methodist in the Quarterfinals, defeating the Eagles, 2-0.

The senior goalkeeper earned the shutout in the net with three saves. MNU will now host the Heart Semifinals and No. 7 Mount Mercy on Tuesday evening.
