Green Earns Second-Straight Heart Offensive Player of the Week, Villegas Earns First Defensive Honor of 2024

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the Heart Men's Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon, for the fifth week of the 2024 season.

Sam Green of No. 11 ranked Missouri Valley College earned his second-straight Heart Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, while Christian Villegas of Baker was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

Green became Missouri Valley's program leader in career points last week, as the Vikings went 2-0, defeating rival Central Methodist, 1-0, and Clarke, 8-0.

The senior scored the game winning goal against Central Methodist and added a goal against Clarke.

Villegas and the Wildcats also went 2-0 in Heart play last week, with wins over No. 10 MNU, 1-0 and Culver-Stockton, 2-0.

The senior goalkeeper earned the two shutouts for Baker in goal with four saves against MNU and two against Culver-Stockton.
