
Horton, Marciniuk Earn First-Ever Heart Tennis Player of the Week Awards
The Heart of America Athletic Conference made history on Monday, as the conference announced its first-ever Heart Men's and Women's Tennis Player of the Week awards, on Monday afternoon.
Cole Horton of No. 12 ranked William Woods earned the first-ever Heart Men's Tennis Player of the Week award, while Milene Marciniuk of Missouri Valley captured the first-ever Heart Women's Tennis Player of the Week award.
Horton is a freshman from St. Joseph, Mo. and earned a 6-4, 6-4, over Freed-Hardeman's Quentin Ferron last week.
He is now 4-1 in singles matches this season.
Marciniuk and the Vikings competed against the University of St. Mary and William Jewell College this past week.
The senior led the team to a 2-0 record and she competed at No. 2 singles, going 2-0 and played No. 1 doubles and went, 1-1.
