
Grand View Sweeps Heart Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors
Two first time winners in 2022 highlight this week’s Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field weekly award winners, as Grand View University swept the two honors with Chantz Minear earning the Heart Track Athlete of the Week award and teammate Zach Stacy capturing the Heart Field Athlete of the Week award.
Two first time winners in 2022 highlight this week's Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field weekly award winners, as Grand View University swept the two honors with Chantz Minear earning the Heart Track Athlete of the Week award and teammate Zach Stacy capturing the Heart Field Athlete of the Week award.
Minear placed sixth in the 60m hurdles at the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Invite, posting a personal best and school record time of 8.23, hitting the 'A' Standard to qualify for the 2022 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. That time is also second place across the Heart this season.
The Des Moines, Iowa native also ran the leg of the Grand View 4x400m relay team, as the Vikings posted a season best time of 3:19.25, which is the top time in the Heart and hit the NAIA 'B' standard qualifying time.
Stacy competed at the Grand View Field meet last week and won the shot put with a personal best time of 15.77m. That time hit the NAIA 'A' standard qualifying mark and ranks second in the Heart.
He also placed second in the men's weight throw with a personal best toss of 14.97m.
